Sunshine Coast music appreciators are in for a treat when the (QSO) visits to perform at 国产麻豆AV on Friday, 31 March 2023.
Flinders will proudly present the masterful QSO鈥檚 Hymn to Mother Earth concert in the Flinders Performance Centre, Buderim from 7:30pm.
It has been many years since the QSO performed in the region, making it an exciting milestone concert for all ages on the Sunshine Coast.

Concert Features Principal Guest Conductor Johannes Fritzsch
The concert will be conducted by the QSO鈥檚 Principal Guest Conductor Johannes Fritzsch who will bring Mother Earth to life with a span of music from across the globe and history, inspired by the natural world.
German-born Johannes Fritzsch has conducted many leading orchestras around the world and conducts the major Australasian orchestras as well as leading productions for Opera Australia, Opera Queensland, West Australian Opera and State Opera of South Australia.
Among many career highlights, in 2017 the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra invited Johannes to design and lead the newly founded Australian Conducting Academy.
Flinders is honoured to be hosting the QSO in its Flinders Performance Centre, a state-of-the-art professional venue with strong acoustics.
The Flinders Performance Centre features sufficient space to accommodate the ensemble of 64 musicians on the raised stage, providing the audience with a clear and impressive view of the Orchestra in action.
Flinders Students to Audition for the QSO Prodigy Program
And music students at Flinders have the exciting opportunity to feature in the concert on stage as part of the QSO鈥檚 commitment to playing alongside young musicians and seeking to inspire their creativity and ambition.
As part of the QSO's Prodigy Program, students at Flinders are able to audition for eight places to go on and practice with the QSO during the day on Friday, 31 March in preparation for performing the final music piece with the orchestra that evening.
Flinders has a robust curriculum and co-curricular Music Program for its students from Prep to Year 12 with more than 650 music students developing their music and vocal skills across more than 15 ensembles.
The College鈥檚 music students will be some of the most star-struck in the audience.
Flinders Principal Stuart Meade said, 鈥淭his will be one of the most significant events hosted at Flinders and we are thrilled to be sharing the experience with members of our Sunshine Coast community.
鈥淲e鈥檒l also be cheering on our student musicians who are selected for this unique performance opportunity as they experience firsthand the power of music to enrapture audiences.鈥
The QSO considers its live performances an opportunity to share their passion and joy with as many people as possible, noting: 鈥淲e are more powerful when we all come together to deliver and appreciate the sound and excitement that surrounds music.鈥

About the Hymn to Mother Earth Concert Program
As long as composers have been writing music, the natural world has been an inspiration.
And like nature itself, this concert will soothe you, fill you with awe and refresh your soul.
The program presents magical musical depictions of nature, including Australian composer Peter Sculthorpe鈥檚 evocative work 鈥楩rom Uluru鈥, depicting the heartland of the Australian outback.
Also on the program is Smetana's ever-popular 鈥楾he Moldau鈥, following the course of a river from a tiny stream (the flute) through to its majestic outpouring into the ocean.
